ΔΕΛΤΙΟ ΤΥΠΟΥ
Oι Καβαλιώτες heavy / progressive metallers The Shadows Of Ithaca κυκλοφόρησαν πρόσφατα το νέο τους CD “Hunt the Hunter” (review) και σας παρουσιάζουν το ομότιτλο track.
Η παραγωγή έγινε από τον Αναστάσιο Καραπαπάζογλου.
Το “Hunt The Hunter”, τραγούδι το οποίο έδωσε τον τίτλο του στο σύνολο του δίσκου, αποτελεί μια κατάθεση της ικανότητας των Καβαλιωτών να χρησιμοποιούν τον heavy metal ήχο σαν “στέγη” για πολλά διαφορετικά και ίσως εκ πρώτης όψεως από ετερόκλητα μέχρι και ασύμβατα μουσικά στυλ!
Έτσι τα ορμητικά αλλά στη βάση τους blues shuffle τύμπανα και το αυτοσχεδιαστικό μπάσο που “χορεύει” επάνω τους, συναντιούνται με τις “ξυραφένιες” μα μελωδικές κιθάρες, για να προστεθούν σε όλα αυτά επιθετικά φωνητικά με rock ‘n’ roll ρίζα, που καταλήγουν όμως σε ένα ξεκάθαρα heavy metal “γηπεδικό” ρεφρέν!
Σαιξπηρικά αποσπάσματα δημιουργούν μια “γέφυρα” ρυθμικών αργόσυρτων και γρήγορων εναλλαγών για μια “μονομαχία” μεταξύ ηλεκτρικής και ακουστικής κιθάρας που λήγει ευχάριστα “ισόπαλη”, ενώ μια θρηνητική γυναικεία φωνή ενισχύει την world music αίσθηση που υποβόσκει στο κεντρικό part του “Hunt The Hunter”.
Ολοκληρώνοντας αξίζει μια αναφορά στο στιχουργικό μέρος μέσω του οποίου εκφράζονται κοινωνικοί, οικονομικοί, ηθικοί και οικολογικοί προβληματισμοί, σε εποχές όπου κυβερνήσεις και πολυεθνικοί κολοσσοί τραυματίζουν διαρκώς τον πλανήτη φορώντας ένα ένδυμα “περιβαλλοντικής ευαισθησίας”.
