ΑΚΟΥΣΤΕ ΤΟ MOTHER MADNESS (Remixed & Remastered by hector.d.)

Έγραψαν για το ‘Orvam: a song for home’

“Orvam: A Song For Home” is a masterpiece and will definitely not lose its place among the best releases of 2014 in my list. Any fan of progressive metal, but also of good/qualitative metal (no matter the genre) that thinks out of the box, should listen to it and give it the appropriate time to unveil its colors. May this album be the game changer in their career and the beginning of many great things to come.  Rocking.gr/Noisefull.com

I can’t say many more things for an album that is easy amongst the 4-5 best melodic albums ever to come out of Greece. An album that’s simple within its complexity that lets you discover new things with every spin. And that’s something missing from today’s scene.  – Rock Hard (Greece)

“Orvam” is a mosaic of sounds and emotions you absolutely have to listen to. The term progressive is used to describe the open-mindness of the album and should not prevent those not familiar with the genre to check it out. An amazing album that’s primary canditate for album of the year. – avopolis.gr

We’re dealing with the best album of progressive music for the year 2014. It’s a great need to become part of a masterpiece at the time of its creation and not in future tense. – progrocks.gr

“Orvam is a progster’s joy, and in general of all lovers of music that comes from the heart. If you haven’t heard of Need yet, then run for cover. Because after you meet them you will develop a literal “need” for a kind of music that is so full of pathos.” truemetal.it

‘Orvam: A Song For Home’ is almost an hour of brilliant progressive music. A lot of different styles are mixed very well into one solid album. From raw to calm, with booming drums and slow piano parts, and this all being produced by Neil Kernon, known from Queensryche and Nevermore. All in all a brilliant album. –  lordsofmetal.nl

Need make one more step forward with this album. They deserve every recognition and success. They’re undoubtedly one of the best bands to ever come out of Greece and can play in the same court with every other band of the genre anywhere in the world.  – progrocks.gr

The album finishes with solemn piano touches, and an even solemner spoken word segment, and though I don’t understand the language, it left me shaken. The whole album did that to be honest. Its power and deeply soulful message are stunning to say the least. Time for a complete discography purchase my friends, Orvam: A Song for Home has more than earned it. – ladyobscure.com

Its deep emotional message and its spiritual aspect, are an acquired taste and a long term inner orientation of thoughts and an intellectual self-examination relationship. Far from the easy listening method and ambient consumerism: seven tracks for a short shamanic initiation and a contemplative trip based on the development of the secret senses. A safe journey without chemical interaction for the thinking headbanger and the clever kind, pristine and genuine but it remains very difficult to catch the true meaning and the primordial essence. –metal-temple.com

The bottom line is that NEED have just added an impressive Progressive Metal album and should be considered as members of the premier league of this hard-to-beat genre. It would be a shame to miss this one. – metalkaoz.com

Manifold of time changes and complex rhythms played oh-so-well on a massive sounding drum kit and percussion, in addition to captivating (and often contradictory) moments of mellowness versus aggression — all play their part well on this huge recording that offers many different things to many different musical preferences, neglecting not the metallic hostility nor the emotional impact showcased so clearly on this album of many contrasts, shades and dimensions. – chroniclesofchaos.com

Opening like a posessed demon and ending like the broken character art that adorns it, this monster of an album will grab you with its imaginative use of instrumentation and engaging stylistic skullduggery but, above all, its sheer honesty and range of emotional interplay. Think not of it as an album; think of it as a story, as a journey, as a song for home.” avenoctum.com

‘Orvam’ is a fine prog metal album, Need can catch up with the big players in the scene. It’s probably only a matter of time until they must be mentioned with the likes of Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree in one breath. – metalglory.de

There are some absolutely jaw dropping stops along the way. Both the opener “Lifeknot” and “Mother Madness” do an admirable job of intersecting the album’s personal atmosphere with some really awesome melodies. In the case of “Mother Madness”, this even approaches catchy. Orvam is thoroughly refreshing. Not being able to easily compare it to a lot of contemporary progressive metal is actually a really nice reprieve, especially because Need executes so well. Blackwindmetal.com

Orvam is incredibly refreshing to listen to. Need’s third outing is competent, elegant, emotive and heavy, all in equal measure. Showcases the band as one of Greece’s top metal acts.” Power Play (UK)

If you want to know what good neo-progressive rock sounds like, it sounds like this. Need doesn’t just completely blur the boundaries between prog metal and prog rock, the band also pulls in the hypnotic rhythms and instruments of Eastern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern metal, progressive folk and symphonic metal. This goes beyond being good prog metal. It’s a tour de force that will surely be in my Best of 2014. – ametalstateofmind.com

If you are looking for a progressive metal group that 100% justifies these two terms equally or for sophisticated metal music that will make you bang your head with pride, your search is over. Need is the band you were looking for.  Progarchives.com
