Οι Αμερικανοί CONTORTION, οι εκφραστές του νέου κορυφαίου ήχου για το American Metal, στα πλαίσια της Ευρωπαϊκής τους περιοδείας Unravelling Europe – United Metal Tour, έρχονται στην Αθήνα και στο BUMS για μια έντονη και αδυσώπητη ζωντανή εμφάνιση με καταιγιστικό thrash, metalcore, death και djent.

Μαζί τους οι Melodic Death Metallers CARVED MEMORIES που απεικονίζουν δυνατά συναισθήματα μέσα απ΄τη επιθετικότητα και την δύναμη της μουσικής τους.

Την βραδιά ανοίγουν οι Θεσσαλονικείς ατμοσφαιρικοί Death/Black Metallers MELINOE που αφηγούνται καλά και όχι τόσο γνωστά παραμύθια με την ακραία και ατμοσφαιρική μουσική τους.

CONTORTION

CONTORTION is a hard hitting and evocative metal band combining elements of thrash, metalcore, death, and djent, creating a cutting new sound for American Metal.

The band has performed extensively, giving them a commanding presence with their fans as well as quickly gaining the attention of new audiences at every show. CONTORTION puts on an intense and unforgiving live performance ensuring the audience gets the full effect from their lyrically driven songs backed by crushing riffs, infectious melodic passages and powerful bottom end. Every hit flows through the crowd.

CONTORTION released their debut hit EP “Live Grenade” in January 2013 featuring the hit track “Dreaming Alone”. The album received positive praise fueling the fire Contortion was only beginning to ignite. With the high energy upward growth, they would soon be Southern Californias metal pride.

As CONTORTION got back into writing for their sophomore release, they crossed paths with Darian Rundall (Suicidal Tendencies, Dokken, Pennywise) and decided to team up in Los Angeles and record their next album together which would be titled “False Flag Paradigm”.

CONTORTION self-released “False Flag Paradigm” in 2014 and recieved tremdendous feedback from fans and press alike. Zero Tolerance Mag (UK) stated, “Contortion plays their brand of aggressive, brutish metal with a competency and tightness you would expect.” The band continued to hit the road and support the self-release throughout numerous venues including 2015’s MAYHEM FEST and KNOTFEST.

CONTORTION has been featured on So Cal’s KCAL 96.7 and KCXX 103.9, and countless internet radio stations.

In late 2015, CONTORTION partnered up with New York based company EXTREME MANAGEMENT GROUP, finding a home on a roster with reputable acts such as SUFFOCATION, CATTLE DECAPITATION, ORIGIN, CRYPTOPSY, DECREPIT BIRTH, THREAT SIGNAL, RINGS OF SATURN and many more. This strengthened CONTORTION’s foothold in the genre and gave them an edge to continue pushing their music globally.

In late 2018 the band found its current line up and began recording a diabolical auditory assault that is creative, heavy, intense and in a category of its own. With a diverse cast of characters composing the new material Contortion twists into an unexpected realm of sonic innovation and heavy heart pounding rhythms to bring its most unique and heaviest material yet. Recording of the album is now complete, and looks to be released in the near future.

CARVED MEMORIES

Carved Memories is a Melodic Death Metal band originated in Costa Rica, now settled in Germany.

Their music is a very emotion-filled Symphonic Death Metal, looking to portray strong emotions on the aggression and power of the voice and base instruments (drums, rhythm guitars, bass) combining with melodic lead guitars that meld the aggression of the music and serve as Segway to the Symphonic elements of the orchestral arrangements and additional elements included to the music.

The band’s image, as is its music, is a very emotionally-filled expression. The military-like outfits are meant to express a life full of battles, victory, and defeat as it’s the Belial realm and is well known for all of humanity as is, as such, the makeup on the band members is to denote an inhuman entity, an absolute separation of a regular human being, but rather a representation of how all these emotions transcend and even on positive notes mark each of us as such. Finally, the expression of the band is to be very intense, lots of different emotions are to be displayed, in emphasis the despair, anger, desperation, among others, mostly to mark how this corrodes and carve within us, as the expression on stage is to be denoted in the same way, full of intensity and a full display of the emotions of each song.

Plenty of shows were played on the Central-American region and a short European held in 2014. After a period of adjustment and a shift on the organization, Carved Memories re-ignited and since 2019 has been rehearsing and setting the organization up for a new release including, image, sound, and line-up which is transcribing to our production of our new, launching the band out on its new base at Berlin.

MELINOE

Melinoë are an atmospheric death/black metal band from Thessaloniki, Greece, brought to life in 2019. The founding members are Georgia Alma (Guitars), Nota Atropos (Bass), John V. (Drums) and frontman Teo Pavlidis, while Epameinondas (Guitars) recently joined the band’s line-up.

The name stems from the ancient Greek Goddess and Nymph, Melinoë, daughter of Persephone and Hades – or Zeus, as mentioned in the Orphic Hymn. The seed that binds and combines light and darkness.

Melinoë are the storytellers, dragging ears and minds in well and not-so-well known tales, along with their extreme and atmospheric music. One may also find in their lyrics the strong connection of tale and reality, past and present. They might as well find themselves in the protagonists’ shoes.

Melinoë’s first EP release “Saffron Cloaked Nymph” consists of 5 concept songs. There, dwell the stories of five women, who left their timeless mark on both history and fiction.
